The Beginning of Our Purpose

The Beginning of Our Purpose

Hi Friends,

The maker/muse here.... I've always wanted a blog but never could quite find my voice. Ironic, considering I love talking and my husband says I am "magic" with words.

I want to document this because this is more than just opening our store. This is the start of a legacy we are trying to create for our family. What started as two crafters falling madly in love and dreaming about opening a leathercraft and embroidery shop, has turned into a dream of offering our talents on a large scale. Teaching the younger generation art forms that we don't want to see lost in such a digital and unoriginal time. While factories in other countries are mass producing things at low costs, we are trying to preserve the value of making something with your own hands. The pride that comes with learning a skill and craft, and developing talent through hard work.

That goes hand in hand (literally) with my goals as a confidence coach in my other endeavors. My life's purpose is to inspire others to find their confidence. In this business, I hope to achieve both.

We started homeschooling in August 2025, and it has been the best decision for our family. Shortly after, James and I started teaching the local homeschool community classes on our crafts. Then we had a dream, of making that more accessible for others in the homeschool community. That is where the idea of Maker and Muse was formed.

This website not only holds our own products that are handmade from our home, it also holds all the information and kits to be able to teach others through our "Maker and Muse Artisan Studio" which is a Skool built to teach others our crafts using kits that are handmade by us with the real tools we use.

For 17 years I have worked in an industry that has chewed me up and spit me out emotionally. Always being told everything that is wrong and never any praise or positivity. Clients that demand more from me at the lowest price, and stole the early years from my kids by making me less present. I am changing that.

The goal of Maker & Muse is not to get rich. It is simply to support my husband and I's dream of both working and creating from home, and allowing us to devote more time to our family and the things that matter the most in this world.

God put this idea on my heart, and I have faith that he will be leading our family into the future we envision for ourselves and our children. A future where we have freedom and can inspire and help other children and people wanting to learn our crafts. We weren't given talents to do nothing with them. We were given talents to share, teach and help others grow.

I hope you follow along on this journey.

With love & belief in you,

Kristianna Mrjenovich
